Tiananmen Square

The Tiananmen Square protests, commonly known in mainland China as the June Fourth Incident (Chinese: 六四事件, liùsì shìjiàn, literally six-four incident), were student-led demonstrations held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing during 1989. The popular national movement inspired by the Beijing protests is sometimes called the '89 Democracy Movement (Chinese: 八九民运, bājiǔ mínyùn).

The Beijing Subway is the rapid transit system of Beijing Municipality that consists of 22 lines including 20 conventional track metro lines, one maglev line and one light rail line. The rail network extends 636.8 km (395.7 mi) (or 628.0 km (390.2 mi) if the Xijiao light rail line were excluded) across 12 urban and suburban districts of Beijing, and has 391 stations.

Chang'an Avenue (simplified Chinese: 长安街; traditional Chinese: 長安街; pinyin: Cháng'ān Jiē), literally "Eternal Peace Street", is a major thoroughfare in Beijing, China. It is often referred to as the Shili Changjie (simplified Chinese: 十里长街; traditional Chinese: 十里長街; pinyin: Shílǐ Chǎngjiē), meaning the Ten Li Long street.

The Gate of Supreme Harmony (simplified Chinese: 太和门; traditional Chinese: 太和門; pinyin: Tàihémén; Manchu: ᠠᠮᠪᠠᡥᡡᠸᠠᠯᡳᠶᠠᠮᠪᡠᡵᡝᡩᡠᡴᠠ; Möllendorff: amba hūwaliyambure duka) is the second major gate in the south of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China.The gate was originally built during the Ming dynasty, when it was called Fengtianmen (奉天門).

The Beijing Hotel (simplified Chinese: 北京饭店; traditional Chinese: 北京飯店; pinyin: Běijīng Fàndiàn) is a five-star state-owned hotel complex in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China. It is located at the southern end of Wangfujing Street, at the corner with East Chang'an Avenue, 1.5 km from Beijing railway station with views of the Forbidden City and part of Tiananmen Square.

Grand Hyatt Beijing (S: 北京东方君悦大酒店, T: 北京東方君悅大酒店, P: Běijīng Dōngfāng Jūnyuè Dàjiǔdiàn) is an 825-room luxury hotel Beijing, China that opened in 2001. It is located at the crossroads of Chang'an Avenue and Wangfujing, and is part of the Oriental Plaza – China’s largest commercial complex. There are a total of seven food and beverage outlets, including the 'Made in China', 'Noble Court', 'Grand Cafe', 'Da Giorgio' and 'Redmoon'.

The Chang'an Grand Theatre (长安大戏院), located on East Chang'an Avenue, is a theatre in Beijing that specializes in Peking Opera performances. Opened in 1996, the Chang'an Grand Theatre is a modern Peking Opera theatre which displays modern facilities such as advanced highlights, multi-functional stage and computer-controlled sound and light systems.

Dongdan (Chinese: 东单; pinyin: Dōngdān), literally "Eastern Single" or "Eastern Single Sign Gate" is the name of a crossing on Beijing's Chang'an Avenue and surrounding neighborhood. The name is derived from the single paifang or Chinese sign gate that once marked the intersection. In the checkerboard layout of Beijing, the Dongdan intersection in Dongcheng District to the east of the city centre, is balanced by Xidan or the "Western Single" in Xicheng District to the west of city centre.

The Beijing Shejitan (北京社稷壇), also known as the Altar of Earth and Harvests or Altar of Land and Grain is a Confucian altar, located in the Zhongshan Park in Beijing. Built in 1421, it was used to perform the national soil and grain ceremonies. The Shejitan is also located in the opposite geometric location to the Imperial Ancestral Temple.

The Beijing Concert Hall (北京音乐厅; Beijing Yinyueting) is located on the Beixinhuajie in Xicheng District, near the west Chang'an Avenue, on the south of Liubukou.
