The Johannesburg Zoo is a 55-hectare (140-acre) zoo in Johannesburg, South Africa. The zoo is dedicated to the accommodation, enrichment, husbandry, and medical care of wild animals, and houses about 2000 individuals of 320 species. Established in 1904, it has traditionally been owned and operated by the Johannesburg City Council.

The Johannesburg Planetarium is a planetarium owned by the University of the Witwatersrand, located on the University's East Campus in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. It was the first full-sized planetarium in Africa, and the second in the southern hemisphere.

Nelson Mandela Bridge is a bridge in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is the fourth of five bridges which cross the railway lines and sidings located just west of Johannesburg Park Station, the first being the Johan Rissik Bridge adjacent to the station. It was completed in 2003, and cost R102-120 million to build.

The Wits Vuvuzela is the official student newspaper of the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). The newspaper is produced by the students of the Wits School of Journalism, and appears in both printed and online formats.

Villa Arcadia is a mansion at 22 Oxford Street, Parktown, Johannesburg. It was built for Sir Lionel Phillips, one of the influential Randlords that dominated the early history of the city. Today it is one of the Parktown mansions that are preserved as part of the city's heritage.

The Faculty of Science is one of the faculties of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, located in Gate House on East Campus. The Dean of the Faculty is Professor Helder Marques. The Faculty offers undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees, and postgraduate Honours (BSc Hons.), Masters (MSc) and PhD degrees.

The Empire Exhibition, South Africa, held in Johannesburg, was intended to mark that city's jubilee and was opened by the Governor General on 15 September 1936. It was the first exhibition held in the Union of South Africa following two earlier exhibitions in Cape Colony in 1877 and 1892. The idea of an empire exhibition in South Africa was first discussed in 1934 by the Buy Empire Committee of Johannesburg.
