Dayton is a neighborhood within the city of Newark in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. It is part of the city's south ward and was named after Jonathan Dayton. The area is bounded on the north by Peddie Street (Thomas Baldwin Peddie), on the east by Newark Liberty International Airport, on the south by Elizabeth and on the west by Elizabeth Avenue.

Evergreen Cemetery and Crematory is a cemetery and crematorium located at 1137 North Broad Street, Hillside, Union County, New Jersey. Parts of it are in Hillside, Elizabeth, and Newark.The cemetery is listed on both the New Jersey Register and the National Register of Historic Places, since 1991.Notable graves include authors Stephen Crane, Mary Mapes Dodge and Edward Stratemeyer.

Waverly Fairgrounds or Waverly Park was the home of the Elizabeth Resolutes baseball club. The Resolutes participated in the National Association 1873 season, so Waverly is considered a major league ballpark by those who count the NA as a major league.The park was located in a community called Waverly, which was bordered by Lower Road, Haynes Avenue, and Frelinghuysen Street.

Weequahic Park is a park located in the south ward of Newark, New Jersey. Designed by the Olmsted Brothers firm, (who also designed NYC's Central Park and Newark's Branch Brooke park). Weequahic Park has the largest lake in Essex County. The park is 311.33 acres including an 80-acre lake. The East Coast Greenway runs through the park.

Weequahic Golf Course is an 18-hole public course located in the Weequahic section of Newark, New Jersey.Designed in 1913 by George Low, it is the oldest public golf course in the United States. The word "Weequahic" is from the Lenni-Lenape Native American term for "head of the cove". The course sits next to the 311 acre (1.3 km²) Olmsted Brothers-designed Weequahic Park, which features a 2.2-mile rubberized jogging path around its 80-acre (324,000 m²) lake.

The White Chemical Corporation Superfund site is 4.4 acres of contaminated industrial land in Newark, New Jersey, about a half mile away from Newark Airport. The Newark site operated from 1983 to July 1990, selling small amounts of chemicals. Some of the chemicals sold there were Trichloroethylene and 1-2-Dichloroethane.

Newark Liberty International Airport Station (also known as Newark International Airport Station) is a railroad station on the Northeast Corridor (NEC) in Newark, New Jersey. The station provides access to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) via the AirTrain monorail which connects the station to the airport's terminals and parking areas.
