Tynwald (Manx: Tinvaal), or more formally, the High Court of Tynwald (Manx: Ard-whaiyl Tinvaal) or Tynwald Court, is the legislature of the Isle of Man. It claims to be the oldest continuous parliamentary body in the world. It consists of two chambers, known as the branches of Tynwald: the directly elected House of Keys and the indirectly chosen Legislative Council.

Douglas East is a House of Keys constituency in Douglas, Isle of Man. It elects 2 MHKs.

Derby Castle is the southern terminus of the Manx Electric Railway. It is located on the north side of Douglas, Isle of Man; Douglas Station on the Isle of Man Railway is located on the south side of town, with the MER station being termed "Derby Castle" to differentiate between the two.

Derby Castle Depôt is the main location of workshops and running sheds of the Manx Electric Railway on the Isle of Man and lies at the northerly end of the promenade at Douglas; it takes its name from the adjoining site which was once home to the Earls of Derby, rulers of the island, and later extended to form an entertainment complex of the same name before being demolished and replaced by the ill-fated Summerland complex in 1968.

Café Royale Halt is a stopping place on the Manx Electric Railway and is located a short distance from the previous halt, serving the café of the same name. Despite many and various changes of name to the café/restaurant over the years (its current incarnation being the "Majestic" Chinese Restaurant) the name of the stopping place has remained the same, although no station nameboard to that effect has ever been erected on the site.

Braeside Halt is a stopping place on the Manx Electric Railway on the Isle of Man and is located on the first section of the inter-urban line a short distance from its southernmost terminus.

The Legislative Council (Manx: Yn Choonceil Slattyssagh) is the upper chamber of Tynwald, the legislature of the Isle of Man. The abbreviation "LegCo" is often used.It consists of eleven members (MLCs):Eight members elected by the House of KeysThree ex officio members:President of Tynwald, ex officio President of the Legislative Council (casting vote)Bishop of Sodor and ManAttorney General for the Isle of Man (non-voting)The MLCs are elected by the members of the House of Keys for a term of five years.

The House of Keys (Manx: Yn Kiare as Feed) is the directly elected lower branch of Tynwald, the parliament of the Isle of Man, the other branch being the Legislative Council.

The Upper Douglas Cable Tramway was a tram line serving all points between the southern end of the promenade and the upper part of the town of Douglas in the Isle of Man. It opened on 15 August 1896 and closed on 19 August 1929.
