Canteen in South Park but restroom facilities at both. Several restaurants and ice cream shops at both ends and on east side. Wide shoulders for bikers and north end has 1.5 mile paved path off main road. Colors in 1st 2 weeks of Oct are breathtaking.

The state park occupies 449 acres (182 ha) on the north shore of Higgins Lake at the site of what was once one of the world's largest seedling nurseries.
