The Westvale neighborhood in the Town of Geddes in Syracuse NY is a quiet residential neighborhood. Although there are very few sidewalks in Westvale, many people walk in the neighborhood. Many people walk or run for exercise, walk their dogs, or ride bikes. There’s a nice balance between flat roads and hilly roads. North-south roads are usually more flat, while east west roads have more hills. I chose to walk on streets with a hill/incline. There are no sidewalks on the route that I chose, but as stated earlier many people walk in the neighborhood streets, so drivers are alert for walkers. The two elementary schools in that area are a popular place for kids and families to play. Walberta is known for its sledding hill, and has a playground basketball court, and a flat open space for playing ball. Cherry Rd School is very popular for bike riding, its playground, basketball court, tennis court. and very large open green space for playing ball.
