Start the walk at the end of Starring Way next to Barkers Wood. Pass through the gate where you can either walk up the hill or around the bottom. If you walk around the bottom you’ll pass a small lake/pond. If you go up the hill just continue until you reach the top of the hill. You will then walk to another gate which will bring you behind Birch Hill hospital. You’ll then follow this trail all the way to Peddler’s Brow with fantastic views of Wardle/Smallbridge on your way. Then once you pass the kennels on Peddler’s Brow you will take a left and follow another route. This route will bring you out in Wardle behind the Globe Inn. You can then either explore Wardle Village and finish your route on the main roads, or continue on to Wardle Reservoir and then complete the circuit going back the same way.
