A quieter safer city walk in the dark of early winter (or later summer) nights.
We start off at Lincoln Center and walk to Columbus Circle at the SW tip of Central and walk the entire 2 1/2 mile length of Central Park to the Frederick Douglas Cirlcle at the NW tip of the Park. Along the way at 72nd Street we pass the famous “Dakota” building where John Lennon & Yoko Ono lived, at 77th to 81st Streets the renown American Museum of Natural History where coincidentally the 2006 movie “Night At The Museum” starring Ben Stiller & Robin WIlliams took place. Then we walk down 110th Street and Broadway passing the Southern edge of Morningside Park along the way.
All seven subway lines that run along the upper Westside stop at Columbus Circle. If you want a shorter route there are subway stops every ½ mile or less.along the way. Also you can start the walk at Columbus Circle instead of Lincoln Center. Enjoy a brisk safe quiet walk in the nighttime. There is enough lighting, people and traffic around to feel safe.
