Rock Island Trail Longview Start

This section of the Rock Island trail in Lee’s Summit is a flat pea gravel bike or walking trail. There is a slight barely noticeable incline when heading NE. This section is mostly shaded by a canopy of trees. There is a park bathroom at the Hartman Park trailhead and also a port-a-potty near the tunnel. The trail was built over an old railroad line and even has an old limestone train tunnel to ride/walk through. The tunnel has lighting for easy visibility.
