Sir John Soane's Museum is a house museum, formerly the home of the neo-classical architect John Soane, located in Holborn, London, adjacent to Lincoln's Inn Fields. It holds many drawings and models of Soane's projects and the collections of paintings, drawings and antiquities that he assembled. The Soane Museum is now a national centre for the study of architecture.

Lincoln's Inn Fields is the largest public square in London. It was laid out in the 1630s under the initiative of the speculative builder and contractor William Newton, "the first in a long series of entrepreneurs who took a hand in developing London", as Sir Nikolaus Pevsner observes. The original plan for "laying out and planting" these fields, drawn by the hand of Inigo Jones, was said still to be seen in Lord Pembroke's collection at Wilton House in the 19th century, but is untraced.

The Cancer Research UK London Research Institute (LRI) was a biological research facility which conducted research into the basic biology of cancer.The LRI officially became a part of the Francis Crick Institute ("the Crick") in April 2015, research transferred to the new Crick building in Somers Town throughout 2015 and 2016, and LRI fully closed in 2017, after 115 years of research.
