From the parking lot, the path descends slightly, leading through areas of prairie restoration and small groves of oak and willow. Benches along the path offer views of egrets and herons fishing in the lakes. Be sure to carry water and wear a hat on warm days. Long stretches of the path will not offer shade until the just-planted saplings grow taller.
