扎尔内斯蒂峡谷

A perfect place for walking or cycling in nature, a 4 km canyon in the Carpathian Mountains through Piatra Craiului Natural Park, accessible to anyone and anytime as a forest road. It’s easily reached by car from Zarnesti. Possibility of parking at the entrance. From the barier continue on foot or by bike. Unforgettable views in the canyon - sky-high rock walls (over 200 m, climbing can be done), a lot of grots on the way, the longest limestone crest (over 15 km). A wild nature corner. Some great bike circuits, very beautiful and accessible trail to Curmatura Chalet. You can also go to Magura and Pestera villages (well marked by colored trails signs). There are also information panels about flora and fauna from place to place (if you are lucky, you can see black goats). Good to know: take a jacket (or a raincoat) and fill your bottle with the water from Botorog’s Fountain when you start this peaceful and impressive one-day hiking.
