Henderson Beach State Park
Length 6.6 Km
Henderson Beach State Park is a Florida state park located near Destin, in northwestern Florida.
The park was purchased in 1983 from the Henderson family estate and opened to the public in March 1991. This was the first acquisition under the Save Our Coast land conservation program initiated by Governor Bob Graham. The family wanted to protect the natural characteristics of the area and let the public enjoy the surroundings.
The initial construction included two picnic pavilions, bathrooms, beach access walkways, an entrance station and support facilities. In March 2000, 30 camping sites, a bathhouse, a camping area, a playground and additional pedestrian walkways were added. An additional 30 camps were added shortly after bringing the total to 60. A beautiful three-quarter-mile nature trail was built through a partnership with the Friends of the Emerald Coast State Parks that gives visitors an unusual view of some of the last remaining coastal communities of scrublands in the area.
Admission is $ 6 and is open 365 days a year. Pets have different rules, it is advisable to inquire first.

Norriego Point & Destin East Jetty
Length 0.9 Km
Norriego Point is a white sand peninsula located at the end of the Gulf Shore Drive on Holiday Isle. It is different from most of the beach areas in Destin because it is not directly in the Gulf of Mexico. One side of Norriego Point is located in the port of Destin and the other side is in the East Pass that leads to the Gulf of Mexico.
This beach area has many beautiful landscapes and areas for walking and exploring. You can see the ships sailing through the harbor and enjoy the view and sounds of Harborwalk Village. The landscape is reinforced by sand dunes, sea oats and wooden fences throughout Norriego Point, which make beautiful backgrounds for photos. You may also see many blue herons and other birds here.
Here are some water inlets protected by docks that create nice quiet areas for swimming on the East Pass side.

Destin Cycling Trail
Length 5.8 Km
We start at the entrance of Henderson Beach State Park, to head north (parallel with 98 Emerald Coast) for approximately 1.7 miles.
We stop at Cracker Barrel, cross Luke Ave to Cristal Beach, to reach 98 Old Hwy, making 0.8miles more.
Our destination is Four Prong Lake at Destin Beach Villas, so we continue on Scenic Hwy 98 for 1.10 more miles.
The route is not too surprising in the first miles (noisy path, parallel to a large road) but once you get to Scenic Hwy, everything changes, becoming a maritime landscape of beautiful beaches.
The trail is easy, flat and well signposted. There are different places where you can stop, use the bathroom and buy whatever you want to hydrate.
