Bannerghatta road

Arekere is a residential area on Bannerghatta Road in South Bangalore. The origin of the name "Arekere" comes from a water reservoir which is in the area. Are in Kannada means half. Kere in Kannada means a water reservoir or pond.Some of the well developed residential areas within Arekere are: Arekere Mico Layout, which is a BDA layout developed in the late 1970s, Pandurangnagar, adjacent to Mico layout, Shantiniketan layout and Sarvabhoumanagar.

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is a public management school and an Institute of National Importance located in Bangalore, India. Founded in 1973, it was the third IIM to be established, after IIM Calcutta and IIM Ahmedabad.It mainly offers Post Graduate, Doctoral and executive training programmes.

The Hulimave cave temple, also known as the Hulimavu Shiva Cave Temple or simply the Cave Temple, is located in Hulimavu, Bannerghatta Road, Karnataka, very close to the BGS National Public School. The Cave Temple is administered by the Sri Sri Bala Gangadaraswami Mutt. It is stated that a saint Sri Ramanand Swamiji did tapas in the cave for many years and his samadhi is also found inside.
