Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT; simplified Chinese: 广东工业大学; traditional Chinese: 廣東工業大學; pinyin: Guǎngdōng Gōngyè Dàxué) is a key provincial university in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. The university offers a wide range of courses in engineering, science, technology, management, liberal arts and law, with major emphasis on the study of engineering.

The City Forex Stadium (Chinese: 广工板球场) is an international cricket stadium in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It is used mostly for cricket and also for Australian football, rugby tens, rugby union and touch rugby. GZ United are the tenants of the stadium.Stadium is located in the Guangdong University of Technology in the Higher Education Mega Centre and encompassing an area of 6355 m2, with seating for 12,000 spectators.

The Guangdong Science Center (GDSC, Chinese: 广东科学中心) is a major science center established in 2008 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China.

Guangzhou University (GU; simplified Chinese: 广州大学; traditional Chinese: 廣州大學; pinyin: Guǎngzhōu Dàxué; Jyutping: Gwong2 zau1 daai6 hok6) is a state university in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, China.The university is made up of two campuses. The major campus is located in Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center (HEMC，geographically called Xiaoguwei Island), covering a total area of 131.7 hectares, with a building space of 596,000 square meters.

Guanzhou Station (Chinese: 官洲站; pinyin: Guānzhōu Zhàn; Jyutping: gun1zau1 zaam6) is a station of Line 4 of the Guangzhou Metro. It started operations on 26 December 2005. It is located at the underground of the central part of Guanzhou Island in Haizhu District. It is constructed to cope with the future site of "Guangzhou International Biological Island" in there, a science and technology development zone led by biological industry.

Higher Education Mega Center South Station (Chinese: 大学城南站) is an interchange station of Line 4 and Line 7 of the Guangzhou Metro. It started operations on 26 December 2005. It is located at the underground of the south of Guangzhou Higher Education Mega Center, located on the Xiaoguwei Island in Xinzao Town (新造镇), Panyu District.

The National Supercomputer Center in Guangzhou houses Tianhe-2, which is currently the fourth fastest supercomputer in the world, with a measured 33.86 petaflop/s (quadrillions of calculations per second). Tianhe-2 is operated by the National University of Defence Technology, and owned by the Chinese government.
