Historic, well established, very busy and maintained trail. $5/car to park in the trailhead lot, or $1/ person (I think) for those who are walking up from below. Hike early, while it’s cooler and bring water are my best suggestions! It’s all up hill until the summit. Very popular! There are sections along the edge of the mountain, and portions actually inside of it- in a tunnel. Sections of stairs, both straight up and a spiral staircase. There is a lot of history here, and options for an audio tour. Brochures are provided. The views are beautiful, scenery is breathtaking.
