Waimea is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hawaiʻi County, Hawaiʻi, United States. The population was 7,028 at the 2000 census and 9,212 at the 2010 census. Since each U.S. state cannot have more than one post office of the same name, and there is a post office in Waimea, Kauai County, the official U.

Parker School is an independent, co-educational day school for students in grades K-12 located in Waimea, Hawaii County, Hawaii. The school offers a complete K-12 college-preparatory program in separate facilities for lower, middle and upper school students.The school is fully accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), Parker School was established in 1976 by community leaders and has been an important community resource for nearly four decades.
