Mont Ventoux by Ste Dove

Mont Ventoux (Occitan: Ventor) is a mountain in the Provence region of Southern France, located some 20 km (12 miles) northeast of Carpentras, Vaucluse. On the north side, the mountain borders the Drôme département. At 1,909 m (6,263 ft), it is the highest mountain in the region and has been nicknamed the "Beast of Provence", the "Giant of Provence", or "The Bald Mountain".

The Vaucluse Mountains (French: Monts de Vaucluse) are a mountain range of the French Prealps located in the departement of Vaucluse, between the Luberon Massif and Mont Ventoux.The highest peak is Signal de Saint-Pierre, which reaches the height of 1,256 metres (4,121 ft).
