Kaiti Hill

Gisborne (Māori: Tūranga-nui-a-Kiwa "Great standing place of Kiwa") is a city in northeastern New Zealand and the largest settlement in the Gisborne District (or Gisborne Region). It has a population of 37,200 (June 2018). The district council has its headquarters in Whataupoko, in the central city. The settlement was originally known as Turanga and renamed Gisborne in 1870 in honour of New Zealand Colonial Secretary William Gisborne.

The Gisborne City Vintage Railway Incorporated is a railway preservation group based in Gisborne, New Zealand. Operating on part of the northern section of the mothballed Palmerston North–Gisborne Line, the group was founded in 1985.From 1986, group restored Wa 165, the first locomotive built at NZR's Hillside Workshops in 1897.

Gisborne Intermediate School is a co-education public intermediate school in Gisborne, New Zealand for students in Year 7 to 8. As of 2016, the school had a roll of 590 students.

The Gentle Annie Tramway or Gisborne Borough Council’s Gentle Annie Metal Supply Tramway was a narrow gauge railway which formerly ran from Gisborne, New Zealand to the Gentle Annie quarry, a distance of 19.3 km (12.0 mi).The tramway was built in 1911 by the Gisborne Borough Council to transport road metal to the Council depot in downtown Gisborne.

Titirangi is a hill in Gisborne city, New Zealand. It is also known as Kaiti Hill, but this refers to the first ridge overlooking Poverty Bay and Gisborne. The hill is an ancestral site of the Ngati Oneone hapū (sub-tribe) in Gisborne. It is at the base of this hill that Captain James Cook came ashore, after first sighting New Zealand in October 1769.

ZGFM was a radio station in Gisborne, New Zealand.The station was originally started by Radio New Zealand on 1010 AM with the callsign 2XG. The station callsign and branding was later changed to 2ZG.In 1978 2ZG moved to 945AM, the change in frequency was due to the New Zealand AM band changing from 10 kHz frequency spacing to 9 kHz spacing.

The James Cook Observatory, or just Cook Observatory is the most eastern astronomical observatory in the world. It is located on Titirangi (Kaiti Hill), Gisborne, North Island, New Zealand. It is named after Captain James Cook.

Kaiti (Māori: Kaitī) is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Gisborne. It is located immediately to the east of the city centre, on the opposing bank of the Waimata River. Kaiti Hill or Titirangi overlooks Poverty Bay with Young Nick's Head (Te Kurī-a-Pāoa) across the Bay. Titirangi also overlooks the city.

The Waimata River is a river of the Gisborne Region of New Zealand's North Island. It flows predominantly south to reach the city of Gisborne. Here it meets the waters of the Taruheru River, and the combined waters flow to the northern end of Poverty Bay as the Turanganui River.
