Bywater is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans. A subdistrict of the Bywater District Area, its boundaries as defined by the City Planning Commission are: Florida Avenue to the north, the Industrial Canal to the east, the Mississippi River to the south, and the railroad tracks along Homer Plessy Way (formerly Press Street) to the west.

New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, or NOCCA, is the regional, pre-professional arts training center for high school students in Louisiana. NOCCA opened in 1973 as a professional arts training center for secondary school-age children. Located in New Orleans, it provides intensive instruction in culinary arts, creative writing, dance, media arts, music (classical, jazz, vocal), theatre arts (drama, musical theatre, theatre design), and visual arts while demanding simultaneous academic excellence.

Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church, formerly St. Vincent De Paul Church, is a church in New Orleans listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The parish was founded in 1838 as the third parish in the city. The original parish boundaries intersected those of St. Louis Cathedral, New Orleans and served the French community.

Rice Mill Lofts is a five-story residential building in New Orleans, located in the bohemian Bywater neighborhood, near the Mississippi River. It houses 69 lofts, townhouses and studios, and is located next to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA). Mariza, a restaurant, opened in 2013.

Lombard Plantation was and the Lombard House is located on the Mississippi River in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana.Named for Joseph Lombard pere, the purchaser of the plot of land for his son, the tract of land was acquired October 25, 1825. In a series of transactions, the land was sold back to Lombard to improve the land for $7,500.

The US Army Supply Base in New Orleans is a former military supply depot that was established in 1919. It served the United States military installations in the Gulf Coast of the United States through two world wars, and up through 2005 when it was closed and sold to the city of New Orleans.
