More Canvey walks

Canvey Lake is an 8.3 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Canvey Island in Essex. It is owned by Castle Point Borough Council and managed by the council together with Canvey Island Town Council.On 1 March 2010 Canvey Island Town Council signed a 99 year lease with Castle Point Borough Council to run the site with a committee of two councillor from each council and an independent chairman.

Castle View School is a comprehensive school for ages 11–16 located on Canvey Island in Essex, England, sited on the old Furtherwick School site in the centre of Canvey town centre. As of 2006, it has some 900 pupils and 200 staff.Castle View is named after the fact that from the original site in Meppel Avenue, Canvey Island, there was a clear view of the remains of Hadleigh Castle.

Cornelius Vermuyden School is a secondary school with academy status for boys and girls ages 11–16. Located on Canvey Island, Essex, the school is named after the Dutch land engineer Sir Cornelius Vermuyden (1595-1683) who reclaimed large areas of fenland in England, and supervised the construction of the sea walls around Canvey in 1623.

Canvey Island Urban District was an urban district in the county of Essex, England. It was created in 1926 out of the civil parish of Canvey Island, previously in the Rochford Rural District.Since 1 April 1974 its former area has formed part of the Borough of Castle Point.
