Der Pfad geht gleich steil durch den Wald. Man braucht etwas Kondition. Oben angekommen geht es relativ flach weiter. Man trifft auf eine idyllische Baumhütte und auf Feuerstellen mit Ruheplätzen. Der Weg von der Waldegg nach Matthof geht quer durch den Wald, ist etwas anstrengend, ist aber um einige Kilometer kürzer als die „normale“ Strecke über die Allmend oder über den Winkel und es traumhaft schön, auch zum joggen.
