NSCAD University, also called the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, is a post-secondary art school in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was founded in 1887 by Anna Leonowens and later became the first degree-granting art school in Canada.

The Downtown Halifax Link system is similar to Toronto's PATH or Montreal's RÉSO system, but on a much smaller scale. It was formerly part of Granville Street, until nearby developments, such as the Cogswell Interchange, and Scotia Square, rendered this section fairly useless traffic-wise and it was converted into a pedestrian mall. The buildings lining the street house a large variety of pubs and stores, and also part of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD University).

1801 Hollis Street is an office building in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Home to many prominent businesses, it was built in 1985 and is one of the tallest buildings in Halifax, standing at 87 metres, with 22 floors. It is located near the waterfront, in a major financial district.The building was originally known as the Central Trust Tower, but was re-branded as "1801" when the trust company closed in 1997.

The Great Pontack (also known as Great Pontac, Pontack Inn, Pontiac Inn, Pontack Hotel, Pontack House, Pontac Tavern) was a large three-story building, erected by the Hon. John Butler (and run by John Willis ), previous to 1754, at the corner of Duke and Water Streets in Halifax, Nova Scotia. (Present-day sites of the Waterside Centre and the Pontac House at the Historic Properties (Halifax).)It was named after the famous Pontack Club in London.

Royal Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, is a 13-storey office tower in the heart of Halifax's financial district. It was built in 1960 and was the regional head office of the Royal Bank of Canada (until it moved to the RBC Waterside Centre in 2014), located on 5161 George Street between Granville and Hollis Streets across from the Provincial Legislature Building.
