Coutances

Coutances Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Coutances) is a Gothic Roman Catholic cathedral constructed from 1210 to 1274 in the town of Coutances, Normandy, France. It incorporated the remains of an earlier Norman cathedral.It is the seat of the Bishop of Coutances and Avranches and was previously that of the Bishop of Coutances.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Coutances (–Avranches) (Latin: Dioecesis Constantiensis (–Abrincensis); French: Diocèse de Coutances (–Avranches)) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in France. Its mother church is the Cathedral of Coutance in the commune of Coutances in France. The diocese is suffragan of the Archbishop of Rouen and comprises the entire department of Manche.

The arrondissement of Coutances is an arrondissement of France in the Manche department in the Normandy region. Since the January 2017 reorganization of the arrondissements of Manche, it has 81 communes.
