Maksim Bahdanovič Literary Museum is a museum in Minsk, Belarus. It is dedicated to the writer Maksim Bahdanovič (1891–1917).

Svislach, or Svisłač (Belarusian: Свіслач, pronounced [ˈsʲvʲisɫatʂ] (listen)) or Svisloch (Russian: Свислочь) is a river in Belarus, a right tributary of the Biarezina river. It is 327 km in length. The name is derived from the root -visl- 'flowing,' of Indo-European origin (compare the Vistula River).

The Nyamiha stampede took place at Nyamiha metro station in Minsk, Belarus. On May 30, 1999, a sudden thunderstorm caused a number of young people to race for shelter during an open-air concert nearby. The stampede was funneled toward the underpass of the metro station and many people were killed in the crush when they started slipping on the wet pavement, falling, and trampling each other.

Atlas (Belarusian: Атлант, the transliteration into Latin script being Atlant) is a company, based in Minsk, Belarus, which makes household appliances, and also the brand of those appliances. It is one of the leading manufacturers of household appliances in the Commonwealth of Independent States.The company consists of three plants, the oldest and most important being the Minsk Refrigerator Plant (Belarusian: Мінскі завод халадзільнікаў), which produces household and commercial refrigerators and freezers, and by which name the entire enterprise is sometimes called.

Independence Palace (Belarusian: Палац Незалежнасцi) is a palace in Minsk. Located on the Pieramožcaŭ Avenue, near the exhibition center "BelExpo" and the State Flag Square, not far from Victory Park.The purpose of the Palace of Independence is to host important and landmark events, meetings of foreign delegations, honoring of big families, and the admitting of children to pioneer organizations.

The 2008 Minsk bombing took place just after midnight on 4 July 2008, in Minsk, Belarus and wounded 54 people. The explosion happened near the Hero City Memorial at a concert to celebrate Belarus' independence. The concert had been attended by Belarus' President, Alexander Lukashenko, who was not hurt and who officials said was not the target.

The fifth inauguration of Alexander Lukashenko as the President of Belarus took place on November 6, 2015. The ceremony was held in the Independence Palace in Minsk for the first time. President Lukashenko was inaugurated in the presence of over 1,000 invited guests, who will include top government officials, members of both chambers of the parliament, all kinds of executives, and foreign guests.

The Nyamiha (Belarusian: Няміга, [nʲaˈmʲiɣa]; Russian: Немига, Nemiga, [nʲɪˈmʲiɡə]) is a river in Minsk. Today it is contained within a fabricated culvert.The first mention of the river in historical chronicles is connected with a disastrous Battle on the river Nemiga, which took place here in 1067, when the forces of the prince of Kievan Rus' defeated the forces of Polatsk princedom.

The Trinity Hill is the oldest surviving district of Minsk; in the past in was not part of the downtown, rather a suburb, hence another name, Trinity Suburb (Trajeckaje pradmiescie). The historic neighbourhood sprawls along the left bank of the Svislach River in the southeastern part of the modern city.

The Minsk Suvorov Military School (MnSVU) (Belarusian: Мінск Сувораўскае ваеннае вучылішча) is one of the Suvorov Military Schools in Belarus and in other former Soviet Republics for military cadets. The MnSVU is a state specialised educational institution that focuses on military subjects and trains students for universities and further military or civil service.
