Umbertide si trova nell'Alta Valle del Tevere, è attraversata dallo stesso Tevere e dal torrente Reggia (o Regghia), e presenta un caratteristico centro storico ancora circondato dalle mura medioevali nei tratti che costeggiano i corsi d’acqua.
Uno dei monumenti più importanti della cittadina è la Rocca quattrocentesca, una superba fortezza medioevale da sempre simbolo di Umbertide, ora adibita a Centro di Esposizioni d'Arte Contemporanea.
