Noss Mayo

The Yealm is a river in Devon in England that rises 1,411 feet above sea level on the Stall Moor mires of south Dartmoor and travels 12 miles (19 km) to the sea, passing through Cornwood, Lee Mill and Yealmpton, a mid-sized village with a population of c.2,000 which is its largest settlement, before reaching its estuary which forms a ria bounded on its western side by Wembury.

Noss Mayo is a village in the civil parish of Newton and Noss in the South Hams district of South West Devon, England, about 6 miles (10 km) south-east of Plymouth. It lies about one mile (1.6 km) inland, on the southern bank of Newton Creek, an arm of the estuary of the River Yealm. On the opposite, northern bank of the creek is Newton Ferrers, a slightly larger settlement.

Warren Point is a promontory in South Devon, located southeast of Plymouth. The Warren Point foot ferry links Wembury, on the western side of the River Yealm, to both Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo on the eastern side of the river. This crossing is popular with hikers walking along the South West Coast Path.
