Providence Canyon State Park is located on Canyon Road west of Lumpkin. There is a five dollar fee for parking. The Canyon Trail is an out and back trail where you can expect muddy conditions with minimal wading. You will be going down into a canyon so you will have some moderate elevation change. The walk begins in the forest on your way down and then it turns into a red rock canyon landscape. The scenery is incredible. The park has ample parking. There are restrooms and water fountains located at the trailhead visitor center. Due to the terrain, wheelchairs and strollers are not recommended. Kids will love the adventure and dogs on a leash are welcome. There is a playground near the visitor center.
