Connswater 5 Mile Challenge Route 2019

Glentoran Football Club is a professional football club that plays in the NIFL Premiership. The club was founded in 1882 and plays its home games at The Oval in East Belfast. Club colours are red, green and black. Linfield and Glentoran are nicknamed Belfast's Big Two, as they have traditionally dominated local football in Northern Ireland since the demise of Belfast Celtic.

The Comber Greenway is a 7-mile (11 km) traffic-free section of the National Cycle Network that runs along the old Belfast-Comber railway line. The cycle path starts on Dee Street in east Belfast and finishes at Comber in County Down. The most recent addition to the route was in November 2008 when the final link between Old Dundonald Road/Comber Rd junction and Comber was opened.

The Ballymacarrett rail crash occurred on 10 January 1945 at 7:50am in the Ballymacarrett area of Belfast, County Down, Northern Ireland on the Belfast to Bangor Line of the Belfast and County Down Railway, when a train led by a heavy autotrain driving trailer ran into the back of a stopped passenger train consisting of lightweight wooden coaches.

Ballymacarrett railway station (also known as Ballymacarrett halt) was a railway halt that served the townland of Ballymacarrett in east Belfast.

Victoria Park railway station served the area around Victoria Park in east Belfast.

Victoria Park was opened in 1906 in the Connswater area of Belfast. Belfast Harbour Commissioners investigated the idea in 1854, however the land was very marshy and needed draining near Belfast Lough. It was landscaped by Charles McKimm, who also built the Tropical Ravine in Botanic Gardens. Victoria Park contains a large lake.

The Oval is a football stadium in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which has been home to Glentoran F.C. since 1892. The Oval was bombed during the Belfast blitz of World War II, and was out of use until 1949 when it was rebuilt by the club along with supporters, who had jointly formed the 'Back to the Oval' committee.
