Erivan Governorate (Old Russian: Эриванская губернія; Armenian: Երևանի նահանգ) was one of the guberniyas of the Caucasus Viceroyalty of the Russian Empire, with its centre in Erivan (present-day Yerevan). Its area was 27,830 sq. kilometres. It roughly corresponded to what is now most of central Armenia, the Iğdır Province of Turkey, and the Nakhichevan exclave of Azerbaijan.

The capture of Erivan (Persian: گرفتن ایروان‎ – Gereftan e Iravān; Russian: Взятие Эривани – Vzyatiye Erivani) took place on 1 October 1827, during the Russo-Persian War of 1826–28. The city fell to the Russians after being besieged for a week and opened up the path for the eventual capture of Tabriz, the second largest city in Iran and an important trading post.

The Freedom Square or Liberty Square (Armenian: Ազատության հրապարակ, Azatut'yan hraparak), also known as Opera Square and Theatre Square (Թատերական հրապարակ, T'aterakan hraparak) until 1991, is a town square located in Kentron (Center) district of Yerevan, Armenia. The square is part of the Yerevan Opera Theater complex, located just to the south of the main opera building, between the opera park and the Swan lake.

The Civilitas Foundation (Armenian: Սիվիլիթաս հիմնադրամ) is an Armenian non-profit organization based in Yerevan, Armenia, and established in October 2008 by Armenia's former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vartan Oskanian. It is a development agency and think tank directed by Apo Boghigian that works to strengthen civil society, promote democracy, economic development and education in Armenia, and facilitate dialogue between Armenia and the international community on a number of pertinent political issues.

Saint Paul and Peter Church (Armenian: Սուրբ Պողոս-Պետրոս Եկեղեցի; Surp Poghos-Petros yekeghetsi) was an Armenian Apostolic church in Yerevan, Armenia originally built during the 5th-6th centuries. It was demolished in November 1930 to make room for the Moscow Cinema on Abovyan Street.

Officially the Yerevan State Puppet Theatre named after Hovhannes Tumanyan (Armenian: Երևանի Հովհաննես Թումանյանի անվան Պետական Տիկնիկային Թատրոն (Yerevani Hovhannes T'umanyani anvan Petakan Tiknikayin T'atron)), is a puppet theatre in Yerevan, Armenia. It was opened on 1 June 1935 by director Sofia Bejanyan, painter Gevorg Arakelyan, actors Pavlos Boroyan and Araksia Arabyan.

Hrachya Ghaplanyan Drama Theatre (Armenian: Հրաչյա Ղափլանյանի անվան դրամատիկական թատրոն) is a theatre based in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. It was founded in 1967. It is located on Avetik Isahakyan 28 street of the Kentron district.It was opened with a performance of Hovhannes Tumanian's "Anush" opera, directed by Hrachya Ghaplanyan.

Officially State Russian Drama Theatre named after Konstantin Stanislavski (Armenian: Կոնստանտին Ստանիսլավսկու անվան ռուսական պետական դրամատիկական թատրոն), more commonly Stanislavski Russian Theatre, is a state theatre in the Armenian capital of Yerevan located on Abovyan Street in the central Kentron district of the city, next to Charles Aznavour Square.

Gethsemane Chapel (Armenian: Գեթսեմանի Մատուռ, Get'semani Matur) was a small Armenian Apostolic church in the historic Shahar district of Yerevan, Armenia, that was destroyed during the 1920s to make way for the construction of the Yerevan Opera Theater on what is known today as the Tumanyan street.The Gethsemane chapel was built by the end of the 17th century, replacing a 13th-century domed basilica ruined during the 1679 earthquake.
