Lake Jennings

This route follows the eastern edge of this prominent San Diego County reservoir. It’s an easy flat path and is paved. Start at the bait shop and head east. There are sweeping views of the surprisingly clear water throughout the route. The lake can be circled, if you leave the road and follow a trail. Today’s trip was an out and back run. There are markers designating points along the lake. Birdwatching opportunities abound. Look out for nesting boxes in the trees.
