Olympic Park

The Olympiapark München (English: Olympic Park Munich) in Munich, Germany, is an Olympic Park which was constructed for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Located in the Oberwiesenfeld neighborhood of Munich, the Park continues to serve as a venue for cultural, social, and religious events, such as events of worship.

The BMW Museum is an automobile museum of BMW history located near the Olympiapark in Munich, Germany. The museum was established in 1973, shortly after the Summer Olympics opened. From 2004 to 2008, it was renovated in connection with the construction of the BMW Welt, directly opposite. The museum reopened on June 21, 2008.

The BMW Welt is a combined exhibition, delivery, adventure, museum and event venue, located next to the Olympic Park in the immediate vicinity of the BMW factory in Munich's district Am Riesenfeld. It was built from August 2003 to summer 2007. A solar system with 800 kW of power is installed on the roof of the main building.

The Olympic Tower (German: Olympiaturm) in the Olympic Park, Munich has an overall height of 291 m (955 ft) and a weight of 52,500 tons. At a height of 190 m (620 ft) there is an observation platform as well as a small rock and roll museum housing various memorabilia, which is signposted as "Rock Museum" outside the entrance.

At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, 38 events in athletics were contested, 24 for men and 14 for women. There were a total number of 1324 participating athletes from 104 countries.

The Institute of Contemporary History (Institut für Zeitgeschichte) in Munich was conceived in 1947 under the name Deutsches Institut für Geschichte der nationalsozialistischen Zeit ("German Institute of the History of the National Socialist Era"). Founded by the German government and the State of Bavaria at the suggestion of the Allied Forces, it was established in 1949 and renamed in 1952.

Donnersbergerbrücke station is a station with four platform tracks in the Schwanthalerhöhe district of the Bavarian state capital of Munich and a hub of the Munich S-Bahn. Here line S 7 separates towards Wolfratshausen from the S-Bahn trunk line. It is also served by services of the Bayerische Oberlandbahn on the Munich–Holzkirchen railway on the S-Bahn trunk line.

Oberwiesenfeld Army Airfield is a former military airfield, located in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

München Harras is a railway and Munich U-Bahn interchange station. It is located in the Harras area of the borough of Sendling. It serves as an important transportation hub for the borough, providing interchange between U-Bahn, S-Bahn, local bus services as well as limited regional railway services on the Bayerische Oberlandbahn main line.

Rotkreuzplatz is an U-Bahn station in Munich, Germany, on the U1. It was opened on 28 May 1983, the extension onwards to Westfriedhof was not opened until 1998. The station is also served by route of the Munich tramway.
