High Tatras

Vysoké Tatry (literally: High Tatras), informally Mesto Vysoké Tatry (literally: The Town of High Tatras), is a town at the feet of the Slovak part of High Tatras in Slovakia including all the major resorts in that region. It was created in 1990, and its official name from 1990 to 1999 was Starý Smokovec, which is the name of one of its major settlements.

Starý Smokovec (Hungarian: Ótátrafüred; German: Altschmecks; Polish: Stary Smokowiec) is a part of the town of Vysoké Tatry in northern Slovakia in the Tatras. Its name is pronounced approximately "Star-EE Smoke-oh-vets", meaning "Old Smokovec".Starý Smokovec is a popular resort for skiing and hiking.

Hrebienok is a small ski resort in the Tatra Mountains, in northern Slovakia. It is connected by the Starý Smokovec–Hrebienok funicular to the town of Starý Smokovec, which is in turn part of the Tatra Electric Railway.

The Starý Smokovec–Hrebienok funicular (Slovak: Pozemná lanová dráha Starý Smokovec – Hrebienok) is a funicular between Starý Smokovec and the tourist complex of peak of Hrebienok in the High Tatras, Slovakia.

Starý Smokovec railway station (Slovak: Železničná stanica Starý Smokovec) is a junction station in the High Tatras. It serves the ski, tourist and health resort of Starý Smokovec, in the Prešov Region, northeastern Slovakia.Opened in 1908, the station is the focal point of the metre gauge Tatra Electric Railway (TEŽ).
