Monas

The National Monument (Indonesian: Monumen Nasional, abbreviated Monas) is a 132 m (433 ft) tower in the centre of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia. It is the national monument of the Republic of Indonesia, built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence.

The Jakarta metropolitan area, known locally as Jabodetabek, Jabodetabekjur, or Jabodetabekpunjur (an acronym of Jakarta–Bogor–Depok–Tangerang–Bekasi–Puncak–Cianjur), is the most populous metropolitan area in Indonesia. It includes the national capital Jakarta as the core city as well as five satellite cities and four regencies.

Merdeka Square (Indonesian: Medan Merdeka or Lapangan Merdeka) is a large square located in the center of Jakarta, Indonesia. Measuring one square kilometer in area, if the surrounding fields within the Merdeka Square are included, it is considered one of the largest squares in the world. At 75 hectares, it is over five times the size of Tiananmen Square, and 12 times the size of Place de la Concorde.

Gambir Station (Indonesian: Stasiun Gambir, station code: GMR) is a major railway station in Gambir, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia. It is located on the eastern side of Merdeka Square. It was built during the Dutch East Indian era and renovated in the 1990s. Currently Gambir Station serves as a terminus for most intercity trains operating across Java Island.

Gambir is a subdistrict of Central Jakarta, Indonesia. It is characterized by many historic buildings from the colonial era. Gambir Subdistrict is the location of many political and administrative center of Jakarta and Indonesia. The Merdeka Palace (the presidential palace of Indonesia), the National Museum, the headquarters of the Indonesian Scout Movement and the Merdeka Square (the location of the National Monument) are located in Gambir.

Ikada Stadium was a multi-use stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, designed by the pioneering, Indonesian modern architect Liem Bwan Tjie. The stadium was named as an abbreviation of Ikatan Atletik Djakarta (Jakarta Athletic Bond). It was initially used as the stadium of Indonesia national football team matches as well as the 1951 Indonesian National Games.

Prince Diponegoro Monument is a bronze equestrian statue of the Javanese Prince Diponegoro boldly riding a horse. The statue is located at Merdeka Square, Jakarta, in the northern part of the park. The statue symbolizes Diponegoro's leadership of his people against the Dutch colonial rulers during the Java War of 1825-1830.
