Introduction
Mount Santubong is a 7.8 mile (18,000-step) route located near Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. This route has an elevation gain of about 2663.4 ft and is rated as hard. Find the best walking trails near you in Pacer App.
This trail leads to the highest peak in Kuching, Sarawak and located in Santubong National Park. The park entrance is 35 km away from Kuching City Center. Hikers are required to register at the Park Office. The park is open from 7:00am and the Park imposes cut-off time at 3:00pm to ensure hikers to start descend from the summit by 3:00pm and reach the park office before dark. There are two main trails could be chosen inside this park. Trails with blue markers is the smaller loop with difficulty level of 3-4. The distance of this circular trail is 2.5km and requires 1.5hrs to complete. Hikers could also skip the circular trail and heading to the summit view points at F7 via trails with red markers. The distance from Park Office to F7 is 2.63km and require 1.5 hours to complete with difficulty levels of 5-7. The last leg is from F7 to the summit is about 1.31km which requires 2.5 hours hiking time due to higher difficulty levels of 7-9. Hikers have to climb at least 17 aluminium ladders to reach the summit.
