Naples

The Metropolitan City of Naples (Italian: Città metropolitana di Napoli) is an Italian Metropolitan City in Campania region, established on January 1, 2015. Its capital city is Naples; within the city there are 92 comune (municipalities).It was first created by the reform of local authorities (Law 142/1990) and established by the Law 56/2014, thus replacing the Province of Naples in 2015.

The Cappella Sansevero (also known as the Cappella Sansevero de' Sangri or Pietatella) is a chapel located on Via Francesco de Sanctis 19, just northwest of the church of San Domenico Maggiore, in the historic center of Naples, Italy. The chapel is more properly named the Chapel of Santa Maria della Pietà.

Galleria Umberto I is a public shopping gallery in Naples, southern Italy. It is located directly across from the San Carlo opera house. It was built between 1887–1891, and was the cornerstone in the decades-long rebuilding of Naples — called the risanamento (lit. "making healthy again") — that lasted until World War I.

The name Gambrinus is a legendary somewhat tipsy figure of joviality, and his name is used for various brands and many establishments.

The Naples Conservatory of Music is a music school located in Naples, Italy. It is situated in the complex of San Pietro a Majella. It was originally located in the church of the former monastery of San Sebastiano and was called the Conservatorio di San Sebastiano, formed in 1807 by the merger of the Conservatorio di Santa Maria di Loreto, the Conservatorio di Sant' Onofrio in Capuana, and the Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini.

The Statue of the Nile God (Statua del dio Nilo) is an Ancient Roman, likely Hellenistic, marble statue dating from the 2nd to 3rd century AD.It is located at Piazzetta Nilo, at the start of via Nilo, in the quarter of the same name, and it is this statue that gives all their name. The church of Santa Maria Assunta dei Pignatelli faces the statue, and the Palazzo Panormita is on the north flank.

The Palazzo Venezia is a historical building Via Benedetto Croce 19 in Naples, Italy, a section of a street, Spaccanapoli.It is next to three other important buildings of Naples: Filomarino Palace, Carafa della Spina Palace and Petrucci Palace. It is evidence of intense political relationship during the centuries between the Republic of Venice and the Kingdom of Naples and an ignored building that is hidden in the city centre.

The naval Battle of the Counts took place on 23 June 1287 at Naples, Italy, when an Aragonese-Sicilian galley fleet commanded by Roger of Lauria defeated a large combined Angevin (Apulian and Principatan) galley fleet commanded respectively by Reynald III Quarrel of Avella and Narjot de Toucy.Lauria had taken his fleet to Augusta, eastern Sicily, after a report of an Angevin galley fleets landing invasion troops there.
