Dopo aver lasciato la macchina nel parcheggio della seggiovia valbiolo si sale fino alla chiesetta di S. Bartolomeo. Dietro la chiesa parte il sentiero per la malga valbiolo che si raggiunge in circa un ora di cammino. Sulla strada si possono vedere marmotte e se si è fortunati anche camosci e aquile. Dietro la malga parte il sentiero che porta al passo. Inizialmente sale molto ripido lungo la pista da sci poi inizia il sentiero a tratti in mezzo a pietraie sino a giungere in 1.30 ( dalla malga) al passo. Da qui in base alle proprie capacità ed energie si può fare il sentiero degli austriaci ( per escursionisti esperti) le crestine a sinistra del passo più semplici ma che necessitano comunque di un po’ di attenzione o raggiungere il rifugio Bozzi in circa 1/2 ora
