Surabaya (Indonesian: suraˈbaja; Javanese: ꦯꦸꦫꦧꦪ, romanized: Suroboyo) is the capital of the Indonesian province of East Java and the second-largest city in the country, after Jakarta. The city has a population of over 3 million within its city limits and over 10 million in the Surabaya metropolitan area, making it the second-largest metropolitan area in Indonesia.

East Java (Indonesian: Jawa Timur, abbreviated as Jatim, Javanese: ꧋ꦗꦮꦮꦺꦠꦤ꧀, romanized: Jåwå Wétan, Madurese: جاوه تيمور, romanized: Jhâbâh Dhimor) is a province of Indonesia. It has a land border only with the province of Central Java to the west; the Java Sea and the Indian Ocean border its northern and southern coasts, respectively, while the narrow Bali Strait to the east separates Java from Bali.

The Consulate-General of Japan, Surabaya (Japanese: 在スラバヤ日本国総領事館, romanized: Zai Surabaya Nipponkoku sōryōjikan; Indonesian: Konsulat Jenderal Jepang, Surabaya) is a Japanese diplomatic mission to Indonesia in Surabaya, East Java. The first Japanese diplomatics in Surabaya was established on 13 March 1920 while the city was under rule of Dutch East Indies.

BII Tower is a skyscraper building in Surabaya. It is located at the heart of the city and has a height of 200 m. It is one of the highest tower in Surabaya. It is owned by Bank International Indonesia.The BII Tower is located in front of the Surabaya Plaza and also the submarine museum.
