Donostia-Hernani-Donostia

Hernani is a town and municipality located in the province of Gipuzkoa, Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. The town sits on the left bank of the Urumea river. It is located at a distance of 9.2 km from San Sebastián. The municipality of Hernani occupies an area of approximately 40 square kilometres and is bordered by San Sebastián, Astigarraga, Arano, Elduayen, Errenteria, Lasarte-Oria and Urnieta.

The Battle of Oriamendi (Basque: Oriamendiko Gudua) was a battle fought on 16 March 1837 during the First Carlist War.The battle was part of a campaign in spring 1837 when the liberal Army tried to chase the Carlists from the Basque Country. They attacked from three points: General Pedro Sarsfield from Pamplona, General Espartero from Bilbao and a British-Spanish force under George de Lacy Evans from San Sebastián.

Astigarraga is a town located in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the Autonomous Community of Basque Country, in northern Spain. It is famous for its hard cider and the cider houses. Quality restaurants are also favoured at Astigarraga.

Martutene is a neighbourhood situated south of Donostia-San Sebastián, Guipúzcoa (Spain) on the banks of the river Urumea, between the neighbourhoods of Loiola, and the village of Astigarraga. In this neighbourhood, are located an industrial area, a football pitch for lower leagues, a disused vocational training building, and a prison that carries its name, Prison of Martutene.
