The Donauinsel (Danube Island) is a long, narrow island in central Vienna, Austria, lying between the Danube river and the parallel excavated channel Neue Donau ("New Danube"). The island is 21.1 km (13.1 mi) in length, but is only 70–210 m (230–689 ft) wide. The New Danube waterway is practically an elongated (swimming) lake, technically a diluvian bed.

The DC Towers (also known as Donau City Towers) will be a pair of towers in Vienna's Donaucity. DC Tower 1 is complete and the first tenants moved into the offices in October 2013. Construction of DC Tower 2 will start afterwards. French architect Dominique Perrault has designed both towers.

Donauinsel is a station on Line U1 of the Vienna U-Bahn. It is located on Donauinsel Island, in the Donaustadt District. It opened in 1982. The station is below the Reichsbrücke bridge.

Donaustadtbrücke is a station on Line U2 of the Vienna U-Bahn. It is located in the Donaustadt District. It opened in 2010.

Donaumarina is a station on Line U2 of the Vienna U-Bahn. It is located in the Leopoldstadt District. It opened in 2010.

Neue Donau is a station on Line U6 of the Vienna U-Bahn. It is located in the Floridsdorf District. It opened in 1996.

The Reichsbrücke (German for Imperial Bridge) is a major bridge in Vienna, linking Mexikoplatz in Leopoldstadt with the Donauinsel in Donaustadt across the Danube. The bridge is used by 50,000 vehicles per day and carries six lanes of traffic, U-Bahn tracks, two footpaths, two cyclepaths and two utility tunnels.

The New Danube (German Neue Donau) is a side channel built in 1972–88 on the eastern side of the Danube in Vienna, Austria. It was created to provide flood relief by containing excess water. The Donauinsel (Danube Island), made out of the removed material, separates the new waterway from the main channel of the river.

The Vienna Islamic Centre is the largest mosque in Austria, located in Vienna's 21st district Floridsdorf.

The Vienna Watersports Arena is an artificial whitewater venue for canoe and kayak slalom competition in Vienna, Austria, the only such facility in Austria. It also serves as a family water park, with guided raft trips and practice times for individual boaters. Located across the Danube from the city, on Danube Island, it pumps its water from the New Danube river channel.
