The Queen Elizabeth II hospital – or the QEII as it is known locally, is located in Welwyn Garden City and managed by East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.

Hatfield Hyde Halt was a halt-layout railway station. The station was part of the Hertford and Welwyn Junction Railway, near the garden city of Welwyn, which was established in 1920, by which time Hatfield Hyde Halt had long been closed.

Digswell Arts Trust was the brainchild of Henry Morris, a pioneering educationalist. Through his enthusiasm, dedication and influence he persuaded the Government and the Welwyn Garden City Development Corporation to establish a Trust for professional artists in Welwyn Garden City, England.It was formally inaugurated by Countess Mountbatten on 29 May 1957.

Attimore Hall Halt was a halt station on the Great Northern Railway in Hertfordshire, England. The station was built near what is now the town of Welwyn Garden City, which would be established in 1920, after the station closed. It was on the Hertford and Welwyn Junction Railway.

The Beehive is a grade II listed public house in Beehive Lane, Welwyn Garden City, in Hertfordshire. The building dates from around the early seventeenth century. It once served as a village store and later as a Beefeater steak house.. The pub has been renovated to compliment the beautiful historic building and is now opened as Coopers Grill Steak House, the restaurant also offers a premium Sunday Carvery which is very popular.
