Darband (Persian: دربند‎, [dæɾˈbænd]), formerly a village close to Tajrish, Shemiran, is a neighborhood inside Tehran's metropolitan limits. It is the beginning of a popular hiking trail into Mount Tochal, which towers over Tehran. A chairlift is also available for those not interested in hiking.The Persian term darband translates to "door of the mountain" (band, a variation of vand and fand, meaning "mountain").

The Dehkhoda Dictionary Institute (International Center for Persian Studies: ICPS) is the main official international center for teaching the Persian language and literature in Iran. It was founded in 1945 and is now part of the University of Tehran. It is named after Mirza Ali Akbar Ghazvini, known as Dehkhoda, a prominent Iranian literary scholar, poet, and author.

Pas Qaleh (Persian: پس‌قلعه‎, also Romanized as Pas Qal‘eh and Pas Qalleh; also known as Past Qal‘eh) is a village in Rudbar-e Qasran Rural District, Rudbar-e Qasran District, Shemiranat County, Tehran Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 153, in 47 families.

Imamzadeh Saleh (Persian: امامزاده صالح‎, romanized: Imāmzādeh Ṣāleh) is one of many imamzadeh mosques in Iran. The mosque is located at Tajrish Square in Tehran's northern Shemiran district. The mosque entombs the remains of Saleh, a son of the Twelver Shia Imam, Musa al-Kadhim, and is one of the most popular Shia shrines in northern Tehran.

Tajrish (Persian: تجريش‎, pronounced [tædʒˈɾiːʃ], also Romanized as Tajrīš) is a city in Shemiranat County, Tehran Province, Iran, which has since been absorbed into Tehran.The Tajrish neighbourhood is located along the northern edge of Tehran. This neighbourhood is one of the oldest parts of Tehran and during the last few decades, has become popular with the wealthy by virtue of the low levels of pollution, in turn created by the area's favorable location along Tehran's northern hills.

Zahir-od-dowleh Cemetery (Persian: ظهيرالدوله‎) is located in Darband, close to Tajrish, Shemiran (now a neighbourhood inside Tehran's city limits) and many Iranian giants of art and culture are buried there.

The Parsian Esteghlal International Hotel is a hotel in Tehran, Iran. Opened in 1962 as the Royal Tehran Hilton, the hotel was designed by local Iranian architect Heydar Ghiai.

The Sa'dabad Palace Complex (Persian: مجموعه سعدآباد‎ – Majmue ye Sa’dābād) is a 300 hectare complex built by the Qajar and Pahlavi monarchs, located in Shemiran, Greater Tehran, Iran. Today, the official residence of the President of Iran is located adjacent to the complex. The complex includes more than 180 hectares of natural forest, streets, qanats, galleries, mansions/ palaces and museums.

Tajrish Metro Station is the northern terminus station of Tehran Metro Line 1. It is also the northernmost Tehran Metro station. It is located in the area called Tajrish, district 1 municipality in northern Tehran, Iran. The station is located at Qods Square, in the northernmost section of Shariati Street.
