The Chocolatería San Ginés is a café at Pasadizo de San Ginés, 5, in central Madrid, in a passageway close to San Ginés church, west of the Puerta del Sol. It has served principally chocolate con churros (hot chocolate and churros) since 1894. Coffee and cakes are also available.The interior is decorated with mirrors and green wood panels, with green velvet seats and marble tables.

El Madrid de los Austrias (English: The Madrid of the Austrians or the Habsburgs) is a name used for the old centre of Madrid, built during the reign of the Habsburg Dynasty (1516-1700), known in Spain as Casa de Austria. Sobrino de Botín (Calle de los Cuchilleros 17, 28005 Madrid, Spain), founded in 1725, is the oldest restaurant continuously operating in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records. The artist Francisco de Goya worked in Cafe Botin as a waiter while waiting to get accepted into the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

Line 2 of the Madrid Metro is a rapid transit line in Madrid. It first opened on 11 June 1924 and originally ran between Sol and Ventas stations.
