Southall

Dormers Wells High School is a comprehensive, state-funded secondary school and sixth form in Ealing, London. A new £30 million project designed by Nicholas Hare Architects with Balfour Beatty Construction saw the old school building replaced with a new state-of-the-art facility. The main features are: extra school places, provision of a hearing impaired unit, new facilities including new business and ICT suites at the front of the school, landscaped outdoor spaces with new school allotments, sports facilities include two football pitches, a cricket pitch and nets, running track and long-jump, new furniture and equipment throughout the school and significant ICT investment.

The London Vickers Viking accident occurred on 2 September 1958 when an Independent Air Travel Vickers VC.1 Viking (registration G-AIJE), loaded with two Bristol Proteus turboprop engines as cargo, and with three crew members aboard, attempted a flight from London Heathrow Airport to Tel Aviv via Nice, Brindisi and Athens.

Southall (until 1936 Southall Norwood) was a local government district in the county of Middlesex, United Kingdom from 1891 to 1965. It consisted of the civil parish of Norwood.Southall Norwood Local Government District was created on 16 January 1891, when the parish of Norwood adopted the Local Government Act 1858.

Acorn House College is an independent, co-ed Sixth Form and GCSE College located in Southall, West London, with particular focus in the medical sciences.It was founded in 1999 to answer the growing demand for education in Southall. Since March 2017, the College has been a member of CIFE, the Conference for Independent Further Education.

The Three Horseshoes is a public house at Uxbridge Road and South Road at Southall Broadway, Southall, London.It was built between 1914 and 1922 (construction was delayed by World War I) by the architect Nowell Parr. I believe it was built earlier - c.1909 as I have a postcard dated 1910 with a sign for the Three HordeShoesIn 1989, the local council proposed to demolish The Three Horseshoes as part of a town centre redevelopment scheme.
