Ithaca downtown

The Ithaca Commons is a two-block pedestrian mall in the business improvement district known as Downtown Ithaca that serves as the city's cultural and economic center. The Commons is a popular regional destination, and is filled with upscale restaurants and shops, public art, and frequent community festivals.

The Clinton House is a historic building located in downtown Ithaca, New York. It is built primarily in the Greek Revival style, common in older buildings in Ithaca. It currently houses offices and a local charter school. It is directly adjacent to the Ithaca Commons.The Clinton House was originally built in 1828–1829 as an upscale hotel and Ithaca's first professional office building, with 150 rooms, an immense undertaking for the then 4,000-strong population of Ithaca.

The Sciencenter's Sagan Planet Walk is a walkable scale model of the Solar System, located in Ithaca, New York. The model scales the entire Solar System—both planet size and distances between them—down to one five billionth of its actual size. Consisting of eleven obelisks situated along a 1.18 km (0.73 mi) path through the streets of downtown Ithaca, the Planet Walk leads from the Sun at Center Ithaca to Pluto at the Ithaca Sciencenter.

It is the parent of the Tompkins Trust Company, as well as several other banks, an insurance agency, and a wealth management division.The bank traces its history to 1836, when the Tompkins County Bank was chartered by a special act of the New York State Assembly.

Moosewood Restaurant is a restaurant that was founded by Therese Tischler, Judy Barringer, Mollie Katzen, Kris Miller, Josh Katzen and others in 1973 in downtown Ithaca, New York. Moosewood is located on the first floor of the Dewitt Mall building, which is a converted high school. When The Seed Company (a bookstore cafe) closed, the owners gave Therese Tischler the money they had left saying, "We're giving this ($1200) to you because we know you'll find something good to do with it." Therese had been politically active as a student at Cornell and was very concerned with ecology and the health of people and the planet.

US Post Office-Ithaca is a historic post office building located at Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York. It was designed and built in 1909 and is one of a number of post offices in New York State designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, James Knox Taylor.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

State Theatre of Ithaca is a historic, 1600-seat theatre located at Ithaca in Tompkins County, New York that hosts various events from bands, to plays, to comedy acts, to silent films, and more.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.
