Cullercoates

The River Tyne (listen) is a river in North East England and its length (excluding tributaries) is 73 miles (118 km). It is formed by the confluence of two rivers: the North Tyne and the South Tyne. These two rivers converge at Warden Rock near Hexham in Northumberland at a place dubbed 'The Meeting of the Waters'.

Cullercoats is a village and urban area of North East England, with a population 9,407 in 2004. It has now been absorbed into the North Tyneside conurbation, sitting between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay.The population of this North Tyneside ward at the 2011 census was 9,202.There is a semi-circular sandy beach with cliffs and caves, and the village is a popular destination for day-trippers.

The High and Low Lights of North Shields which are also known as the Fish Quay High and Low Lights are a series of historic leading lights that were constructed near Fish Quay in North Shields, Tyne and Wear in the United Kingdom. The first pair of lighthouses were erected here in the 16th century by the Guild of the Blessed Trinity of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

North Shields Metro station is a station on the Tyne and Wear Metro network's Yellow line. It is located in a cutting just prior to a tunnel which takes the line eastwards beneath North Shields town centre.

Jingling Geordie's Hole is a cave that has inspired a legend in Tynemouth, England.The cave is between King Edward's Bay and Tynemouth Castle. It was originally known as "Jingling Man's Hole", the "Geordie" being a later addition.Jingling Geordie is reputed to have been a 17th-century pirate and smuggler who used the cave as a lookout for incoming ships.

Cullercoats Metro station is a station on the Tyne and Wear Metro network's Yellow line serving Cullercoats on the North Tyneside coast. It is located a short walk from both Cullercoats Bay and the north end of Longsands beach.

Clifford's Fort was a defensive gun battery established near the mouth of the Tyne during the Anglo-Dutch Wars in the 17th century. It subsequently served as a submarine mining depot and survives today as a Scheduled Ancient Monument in the historic Fish Quay area of North Shields, Tyne and Wear, in North East England.
