The Catalina Flyer is a 500-passenger catamaran ferry operated by Catalina Passenger Service.It has provided daily passenger service since 1988 from the Balboa Pavilion in Newport Beach, California to the city of Avalon located on Santa Catalina Island. Prior to 1988, the same run was served by the Island Holiday from the mid-1950s until 1978, and the Catalina Holiday from 1978 until 1988, both also operated by Catalina Passenger Service.

The William Wrigley Jr. Summer Cottage, or "Mount Ada", is a historic residence located at 76 Wrigley Road in Avalon, on Santa Catalina Island, California. It was the former summer mansion and gardens of William Wrigley Jr. (1861–1932), the founder of the Wrigley Company. It is on a hill, overlooking the town and Avalon Bay.

KISL (88.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Avalon, California, United States, the station serves the Avalon area. The station is owned by Catalina Island Performing Arts Foundation.

The Peter Gano House is a historic three-story house in Avalon, California. It was built in 1888-1890 by Peter Gano, a civil engineer, and designed in the Queen Anne style, with a cupola. It was purchased by Joshua Reed Giddings in 1921, followed by John Smith in 1961. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since September 15, 1983.
