Taganrog

Alferaki Palace is a museum in Taganrog, Russia, originally the home of the wealthy merchant Nikolay Alferaki. It was built in 1848 by the architect Andrei Stackenschneider on Frunze Street (formerly Katolicheskaya), in downtown Taganrog.The building is decorated with a portal featuring four Corinthian columns and stucco moulding in the baroque style.

The Chekhov Gymnasium in Taganrog on Ulitsa Oktyabrskaya 9 (formerly Gymnasicheskaya Street) is the oldest gymnasium in the South of Russia. Playwright and short-story writer Anton Chekhov spent 11 years in the school, which was later named after him and transformed into a literary museum. Visitors can see Anton's desk and his classroom, the assembly hall and even the punishment cell which he sometimes visited.

The A.P. Chekhov Literary Museum (Russian: Литературный музей А.П. Чехова) is a museum in Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is situated in the building of the former men's classical gymnasium, where Anton Chekhov studied. It is part of Taganrog State literary and historical-architectural museum-national park.

In the first half of the 19th century, Taganrog was one of the largest ports in Russia. Hundreds of ships from European ports came into the haven. Merchants and seafarers from Liverpool, Bristol, Lisbon, Marseille, Genoa, Livorno and other seaports worldwide knew the name of the city of Taganrog.

This is a two-storey house where the famous Russian writer Anton Chekhov stayed with his family from 1869 to 1874.The building was built in late 1840s and is located on the crossing of Alexandrovskaya (formerly Monastirskaya Street) and Gogol Street (formerly Yarmarochniy Pereulok).

Taganrog II (Russian: Таганрог-II) is a railway station in Taganrog, Rostov oblast, Russia. It is a terminal station for the Rostov-on-Don — Taganrog railway. The station host only suburban trains from Rostov-on-Don. International polytechnic museum is located on the second floor. Among the showpieces of museum there are English projection camera 19th century, soviet television set КVN-49, radiogram Mir and others.
