A four hour night-wink, I roused myself up and as I unexpectedly found myself in the mood for a wild run; just got out & took off on my feet with no plan of where or how long a run I wanted-just ran!!
Out if the suburbs and my need for speed took me into the Hermitages, starting from the allotments plot...there are flatter routes suitable for all even for stroller & wheelchairs, but I challenged myself with the steeper slopes and spiralling muddy steps, which had me breathless with exertion. I was moving at snail pace, with my bum stuck out and my chest bent over and heaving, swaying from side to side much like the posture assumed by Fortnite characters but way slower, and certainly not armed with an axe! Beautiful scenery up the braids, which unlike the muscled Fortnite characters, I did not resort to ravage but profoundly appreciate & enjoy while pausing to chat to other ‘outdoorsies’.
The cold, cool weather was my perfectly ideal for me and I was dressed down-just shorts & sleeveless to keep me from feeling hot 🥵 and my Barefoot Vibram trainers as always keep me perfectly on the ground.
Well worth it!
