Eilenriede

The Eilenriede is a 640-hectare (1,600-acre) municipal forest of Hannover, Germany. It is nowhere near the biggest German city forest, the Briloner Stadtwald for example has a size of around 7,750-hectare (19,200-acre). For unknown reasons the Eilenriede forest is sometimes labeled a "park" which causes considerable confusion as that would make it one of Europe's biggest.

Hanover Zoo is located in the city centre of Hanover, Germany. The zoo was established on 4 May 1865, and comprises an area of 22 hectares. It contains about 3,414 animals in 237 species, which are cared for by more than 400 employees in the summer season.
